Our Housegroups are
small groups that meet
regularly in various homes
in Sidcup, Blackfen and
Foots Cray. They are for
anyone who wants to learn
more about God, grow as
a Christian, get to know
other people, pray, be involved in the local community, care for others, and be cared for.
Meetings are informal and typically include light refreshments, chat, some prayer and some form of study based on the Bible or looking at Christian perspectives on topical issues. Questions are encouraged and you can ask any questions you like.
Anybody is welcome to join one of SBC’s Housegroups: we currently have seven, catering for all ages (including a Youth Housegroup). Some meet during the daytime whilst others meet on various evenings in the week. Each group has a leader and a host. One thing you can be sure of is that you will be made welcome and feel cared for. Housegroups are also the basis of our informal pastoral care network.
As well as the regular meetings, usually fortnightly, Housegroups often have social evenings (meals together, barbeques (when the weather is right), quiz nights, etc. Some groups go to a restaurant for a special Christmas Dinner, and one or two have had weekends away together once a year.
If you would like to know more or would like to join a group, please contact our Housegroup Co-ordinator, David Rouse at rev@sidcupbaptistchurch.org.uk.
