Sidcup Baptist Church, also known as Main Road Baptist Church, is one of three Baptist churches in the Sidcup area, the others being Albany Park and Foots Cray.
We are an all-age fellowship - literally ranging from babies to centenarians – and our regular congregation currently numbers around 100 -120 people at our worship meetings on a Sunday morning. Our evening services are usually more intimate, reflective or experimental in character.
Sunday ‘services’ are only part of the story. We also have two lively clubs for children and young people – Friday Frogs for kids aged 7-11 and Friday Crew for kids from secondary school age upwards. There are various mid-week groups both in daytime and evenings, and a network of House Groups meeting in peoples’ homes for fellowship, study and prayer.
We are proud to be part of the community of Sidcup and believe our calling is to make Jesus known in word and deed to the people of Sidcup. We enjoy a healthy and mutually supportive relationship with other churches of all denominations in the Churches Together In Sidcup group. As a church and as individuals we play a key part in the highlight event in Sidcup’s community calendar, Lark in the Park, led by our friends at New Generation Church
Our premises are used by a number of groups during the week including the Sidcup Chinese Church Fellowship, the Friday Club (for stroke survivors), the Huntington’s Support Group, Disabled Christian Fellowship and a popular Playgroup.
On other pages in this section you can meet our leadership team, find out more about what we believe, a bit about our history so far and constitution and more about our vision.
We are a charity registered with the Charities Commission for England (No.1130546).
